You can't defeat the "enemy" (for lack of a better way to put it) unless you understand what they are thinking, motives weaknesses etc. More typical that people want to put no effort into research or understanding and just have something work out. Laziness. The good news is that by putting in the effort you can easily take advantage of a typical shortcoming like this.
