I've found memory leaks in long running single pages apps that were down to jQuery UI components so I wouldn't dismiss jQuery performance doubts so quickly.
- ebbv 13y agojQuery UI is a whole different beast and there's a reason it's required separately. Also at this point the base jQuery UI is pretty solid, but plugins are a different matter.
