Real life is much more complicated.
- begurken 14y agoLife must be especially complicated for you, considering that each of your assertions are flat out wrong. Facebook, Google, and Microsft not profitable? Seriously dude, just google them; they're very profitable (technically MS lost money last year, but that was entirely due to a one-off asset writedown, and they've made gobs of cash every other year).
- rewind 14y agoThose are all examples of outliers, not real life.
- ajross 14y agoAll successful startups are outliers. "Real life" startups, to first approximation, fail. This one did too. But frankly it wasn't because of the lack of market research.
