The more "secure" a nation tries to become the more tyrannical it becomes. It seems most people fail to forget that governments are made up of people, who like all their predecessors throughout history, will behave in a very predictable fashion if given power where there is no counter balance to their actions.
- brazzy 14y agoIt's not just tyrannical. Also violent. The (in my long experience) most common reason given by gun-owning Americans for their need to be gun-owning Americans is that they have to be able to defend themselves against someone breaking into their house and wanting to kill them and their family. Yet somehow, this is not a scenario that most Europeans feel any need to worry about.
