Perhaps you're in a specific field where your statements are accurate, but the level of statistical analysis exhibited in a large segment -- dare I say the majority -- of current biological literature is still at a very basic level. You wouldn't believe how many biologists and chemists have only a working knowledge of the basic math they need for everyday work. Wilson is entirely correct.
