From what I can find, this is the author's company: http://openfi.re/ http://openfi.re/ "A crowdfunding platform for long-term, socially valuable projects." Perhaps the author does not mean iterator in a derogatory way? Obviously, his own company is an iteration on the existing crowdfunding wave.
