Since Julia is within a factor of 2 of C on some common micro-benchmarks (http://julialang.org/ http://julialang.org/), and since it has a decent IO library (libuv, borrowed from node.js), it wouldn't surprise me if performance is on par with the JVM.
- pjmlp 14y agoSure, my remark was actually due to the reference to Go as a language target for high performance, given the state of the current implementations. It might get there, but lots of improvements are still required. I really like to see the progress on Julia
