Dancer use PSGI (not CGI) and most modern Perl webapp frameworks (Mojo & Catalyst) use PSGI/Plack (http://plackperl.org/ http://plackperl.org/). The PSGI model is very similar to wsgi which allows for different types of persistent servers.
