Is there an open source version of HN anywhere?
- captn3m0 14y agoYou might like lamernews[1], made by antirez, which uses redis. [1]: https://github.com/antirez/lamernews https://github.com/antirez/lamernews
- deleted 14y ago[deleted]
- emillon 14y agoClosest you can find is news.arc, for example see a mirror on [1]. The canonical source should be in the arc distribution. [1]: https://github.com/wting/hackernews/blob/master/news.arc https://github.com/wting/hackernews/blob/master/news.arc
- thuijzer 14y agoInspired by HN: https://bitbucket.org/thuijzer/linkdump https://bitbucket.org/thuijzer/linkdump (PHP)
- pseut 14y agoTo add to the other replies: reddit's open source as well[0] and reasonably straightforward to set up (at least using their Ubuntu installer). Not your question, I know, but thought I'd add for completeness. [0] https://github.com/reddit/reddit https://github.com/reddit/reddit
- jaredmoody 14y agoWhen I developed NBT, I started with this: https://github.com/phil303/hacker-news-clone https://github.com/phil303/hacker-news-clone and then modified it beyond recognition :)
