Not all industries have a very straight line between what the average employee does and how the company makes money. Google makes 96% of all revenue from advertising, yet obviously they don't channel all 40+ billion dollars into the adwords group -- because the companies value / trust / products / features are way more complex than that simple (but accurate) number.
