On hackable human systems
We've been bulletproofing software and hardware as much as possible for a while, but it is amazing how little attention is paid to the prevention of cheating in human systems (anything from designing a coupon system for marketing, to physical gamification tools, to laws, to entitlement systems and regulations). Should those who create a system that is easy to abuse be held morally responsible for teaching people how to cheat? Why do I ask? This has been bugging me for years, after growing up in Eastern Europe where corruption created by really bad human systems is grinding innovation to a halt. I wonder if there is a way to create predictive algorithms or at least a check-list for ways people might misuse a human system.
