That sounds like an appropriate time to escalate the situation publicly if you are mocked and is absolutely inappropriate when it happens. But how does posting it publicly on Twitter instead of privately asking for it to stop not result in hostility or mocking? Seems like it does....(this thread is case in point). (not disagreeing, just trying to gain perspective)
