This is just awful. And the people who are taking part in the harassment are responsible, not anyone else.
- hilljgo 14y agomay I ask what started all this?
- selenamarie 14y agoTrolls are harassing Jesse Noller because of the role he played in responding to http://pycon.blogspot.com/2013/03/pycon-response-to-inappropriate.html http://pycon.blogspot.com/2013/03/pycon-response-to-inapprop...
- hilljgo 14y agoah, which was thishttp://term.ie/blog/how-to-get-banned-from-pycon/ http://term.ie/blog/how-to-get-banned-from-pycon/ right?
- selenamarie 14y agoNo, that is a separate incident: http://pycon.blogspot.com/2013/03/pycons-response-to-inapropriate.html http://pycon.blogspot.com/2013/03/pycons-response-to-inaprop...
- awa 14y agoThe hatemail and harassment is awful. However, I do think pycon staff dropped the ball by not making sure photos taken without consent were taken down/deleted when the complaint was being resolved.
- lawnchair_larry 14y agoBeing that you "thanked" Adria for her deplorable behavior, I'm not sure that you're in a position to speak out against harassment on this issue.
- flaviusb 14y agoAdria's behaviour wasn't deplorable - it was fine. The response of the two men involved's workplaces (ie firing them for essentially bad PR) was less than fine, but not deplorable. The response of the hordes of screaming shitbags making death threats has been deplorable. Fucking deplore the actually deplorable, not the fine.
