I don't think diamonds are really bullshit. People tend to add meaning to things that would otherwise be meaningless, and that meaning is compounded by the meaning added by the many peoples in society. I think that's pretty valuable, even if you try to deconstruct the dubious premises. I mean, hey, look at language. That's pretty dumb. It was made by a bunch of poor dudes sitting in caves and squawking at each other? Who would buy into that shit, am I right?
