If you think that software is something you build in your spare time between your full-time job, feeding your kids, and sleeping, then by all means maintain this opinion. I think the point of a financing campaign is so that the developer has the freedom to take this on as their full time job. Seems reasonable to me.
- desireco42 14y agoI have 3 kids, I have projects I don't have enough time to develop, I think that is normal. Honestly, and I really wish you all best, but I think this is abuse of what kickstarter and indiegogo were for.
- lukifer 14y agoSorry, but that's just ridiculous. Not only do KickStarter and IndieGogo have countless other software-only projects, they have many other projects with few costs other than the creators' time, like digital comic books and music. If you feel that's not worthy of backing, fine, but I'd hardly call it "abuse".
- yock 14y agoNot to be unfair, but my point at least was that it isn't okay. This is what a large chunk of us do for a living. What difference does it make by whom or by what mechanism our work is compensated?
