I think the OP is giving Tech Crunch a wee bit more credit for king making than they deserve. Mailbox is a great case of playing the hype game to perfection. Massive hype, perfect fit for a larger "startup" playing with house monopoly money - it all adds up to a huge win. Just be happy for the guys. They haven't even gotten started yet- let them give it a go.
