I think the point is that doing these things is a welcome distraction from work. Eating becomes a chore when you could be doing something better.

- Evbn 14y agoYeah, but then that better thing becomes a chore, when you do it all day every day.
- grecy 14y agoThat's why you fill your life up with lots of varied "better things" so no one of them becomes a chore. Even if they somehow did, you can just pick new "better things". The drain of buying/cooking/eating/cleaning up food is you can't easily opt out.
