Ask HN: What phone do you use?
- 6thSigma 14y agoSamsung Galaxy Nexus
- jstanley 14y agoNokia N900 today. I have ordered a Nexus 4 on the recommendation of several friends and expect it to arrive before Friday.
- Tzunamitom 14y agoApple iPhone 4S... I hesitate to say "phone". It's great at browsing the internet but it's pretty useless at making phone calls!
- bonzoq 14y agoWhy is that?
- Tzunamitom 14y agoPoor sound quality mainly - solved by using a headset.
- jonathansizz 14y agoSanyo Pro 200! It's mediocre at browsing the internet, but great at making phone calls!
- forkrulassail 14y agoHTC Amaze 4G
- cryptoz 14y agoNexus 4, because it has a barometer!
- 27182818284 14y agoSo did the Galaxy Nexus? That's not new :-)
- gspyrou 14y agoNokia Lumia 800
- mase 14y agoNexus 4 It's big, but it's amazing and untainted by OEM crap.
- kevinyun 14y agoGalaxy S3
- dan1234 14y agoiPhone 5. I've had it since September and it does what I need. I'll be happy to keep it for at least 2 years (assuming there isn't a huge leap forward in battery tech)
- darreld 14y agoNexus 4
- NathanKP 14y agoThis would be better handled as a poll: https://news.ycombinator.com/newpoll https://news.ycombinator.com/newpoll
- sn0v 14y agoA Samsung Galaxy S running CyanogenMod 10.1 (Android 4.2)
- xauronx 14y agoiPhone 4s. iPhone 5 wasn't a big enough reason to upgrade, which would be the first time in a while I didn't upgrade yearly.
- deleted 14y ago[deleted]
- ereckers 14y agoHTC EVO 4G
- 27182818284 14y agoGalaxy Nexus (Would have the Nexus 4, but no carrier that supports it in my area)
- Nightrider 14y agoI recently switched to the Windows Phone 8 and I freaking LOVE IT. Specifically its the Lumia 920, and oh man is it swish. Really makes the iPhone look dated.
- Baltoli 14y agoGalaxy Note N7000.

- traxtech 14y agoNexus S. New Nexus screens are too big for me.
- yolesaber 14y agoSamsung Intensity II. It's not a smart phone.
- mrlyc 14y agoNokia 3315. Twelve years old. I recharge it every three weeks and access to the phone network costs me $10 per month. I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace to play MP3s. When I used it as a phone, it had to be recharged every two days and cost me $15 per month. I went back to using the Nokia.
- dynabros 14y agoDroid 4! It has a keyboard!
- mkr-hn 14y agoAn old flip phone.
- prg318 14y agoMotorola Droid 3. Would be a great device, but Motorola stopped releasing updates for it because it didn't sell too well. The stock ROM updates to android GB (2.3). While the android community has managed to get ICS and JB on the phone successfully, the camera sensor drivers need to be reverse-engineered to be used with android 4.x which doesn't look very probable. It's a shame the folks at Motorola can't help out at all or at least provide the devs with some specs. I guess Moto doesn't want to release their smartphone camera driver secrets to the world... Really hoping someone puts out a android phone with a keyboard that will actually get updates.
- tommaxwell 14y agoGalaxy Nexus. Would have a Nexus 4, but Google hasn't released a CDMA version and I'm stuck on Verizon for now.
- ragatskynet 14y agoI use an LG GT540. It is pretty slow and buggy with the ram i am using, though... no. I hate it. Really.
- hilko 14y agoNexus 4. First purchase outside the Apple ecosystem and aside from the size, I couldn't be happier. Mind, if I could've got an iPhone 5 cheaper without a contract I might've done that anyways (mostly for the convenience, size and a slightly better camera). But aside from pricing, I was getting a little annoyed by the experience of having to wait a long time for a jailbreak, and now that I actually have an Android device I became aware I'm more of a tinkerer and like the freedom much more than I thought I would.
- sewardth 14y agoiPhone 5. So far pleased, but hoping Apple can keep up with innovation.
