because the programs i need in windows are visual studio, a vpn client, linqpad and some other thing. they fit into win+1-4. everything else I run with launchy, with a whole bunch of small utility apps that make my short windows stays more pleasant. I don't need the start menu, I can very well live without it. I just happen to like experimenting with things
