He still is. Well, one of the creators. :-) I wondered if someone would mention microPledge here. Two major reasons we put it on hold: 1) issues with PayPal -- payment providers and CC companies don't like you holding funds in trust, and 2) it was just really hard to get paying customers to use it (we allowed open source projects to use it to collect funds for free, which may have been a bad idea).
