GTD: How Do You Determine What To Do Next?
How do you cope with a very large GTD list? Following is the method I am currently using...
- yamadacracy 19y agoJust start doing it. GTD can be counter-productive. Try the Air-Force / Special Forces model: A.C.T.E. micro-cycling. [A]ssess the situation quickly [C]reate a SIMPLE plan, emphasis on simple ... [T]ake action ... [E]valuate the results (can be seen as another "Assess" with the outcome of your first A.C.T. micro-cycle now in the picture. Just keep repeating and your brain will warm up and loosen up. GTD tends to make planning the work more work-like than doing the work, and as they say ... "Planning the work is not the same thing as actually doing th work." IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO EVEN BEGIN ASSESSING, then just start doing blindly. In half an hour your brain will start spitting out requirements and plans to work more effectively and efficiently.
