I "learned" the gist of Prolog in one day. Same as Lisp & Smalltalk. Of course, it takes years to master, as in Lisp & Smalltalk, but you can get a taste of the magic fairly quickly. A highly recommended book is The Art of Prolog, the "PAIP" of Prolog. But unlike PAIP I have managed only a chapter or two, though it's on my list of "to reads" ;-)
