What would be nice is a library that you can load with LD_Preload and replaces zlib compression. That way I could easily use e.g. Optipng with this new algorithm.
- lucian1900 14y agoI don't think that would be of much use, since only it only deals with compression.
- allerratio 14y agoIt only needs to overwrite the compression methods
- lucian1900 14y agoRight, but compressors are easy to change, it's decompressors that are in hard-to-update software.
- allerratio 14y agoAlso the compression for example in libpng
