- saurik 14y agoThe article, however, actually states that the expectation should be for the rule to do nothing, as the packets in question were much larger than the maximum packet size. You thereby have to examine this as some kind of rushed "let's try something, anything" reaction to a situation where an engineer didn't actually understand what was happening enough to make such a call: it is not surprising that the result was that they ended up landing squarely in "something even more confusing has now happened and everything is offline" territory.
