It seems bizarre that they would allow an organ transplant but not a blood transfusion.
- Tuna-Fish 14y agoThey believe that the protestant canon of the bible is the inspired, inerrant word of god, and that it should be taken literally. All commandments given should be followed without question. One such commandment is in acts 15:28-29: For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. For them, that's enough. Since organs are not mentioned, they are A-OK.
- Millennium 14y agoIf you really want to get technical, it's a dietary restriction rather than a medical one. They're not allowed to eat blood, and consider transfusions a form of "eating."
