It seems more like they make a risk-free blog post parroting general HN sentiment every couple of weeks for the karma/publicity. Not that fresh or honest if you ask me, and hardly pragmatic.
- modoc 14y agoI seriously doubt that 37Signals authors blog posts for the purpose of getting karma on HN.
- xentronium 14y agoDHH strongly despises HN[1]. [1] https://twitter.com/dhh/status/289669574427820032 https://twitter.com/dhh/status/289669574427820032
- papsosouid 14y agoHe says on twitter. To gain more publicity from HN. Just because he hates that there's some people here who call him on his bullshit, or even if he hated HN for real, that wouldn't mean he doesn't use it for marketing.
- xentronium 14y agoThey obviously can't prevent other people from submitting links to their blog, but I don't see them submitting their own content either. http://www.hnsearch.com/search#request/submissions&q=37signals.com&start=0 http://www.hnsearch.com/search#request/submissions&q=37s...
- papsosouid 14y agoIf they actually, honestly didn't want their inane spam posted on HN, they could easily achieve that simply by returning a non-response or redirect or error for any requests with a HN referer header. They do not do that because they actually do want to continue getting traffic from the inexplicable portion of HN that insists on posting their crap all the time.
