Next post will go in details, but we jave a lot cables. A web server for example:
- 2 Ethernet for Redis/Web/Other traffic
- 2 Ethernet for DB traffic
- 1 Ethernet for our KVM
- 1 Ethernet for our drac
- 2 Power cables for A/B Power
Getting all the neatly into 1U cable arms was ... fun :-P
- skorgu 14y agoDrac and kvm?
- KyleBrandt 14y agoThe DRACs have some nice features: Allows you to mount external media, see the previous boot screen etc. However, when physically at a facility, DRACs are not very handy. They also don't allow you to easily switch back forth over multiple servers. The two also in part act as a back up for each other.
- skorgu 14y agoWe've always used a crash cart if the dracs didn't cut it. Which KVM did you go with? All the IP KVMs I've used were pretty horrid to use.
