Mike Bloomberg had a great anecdote in his Chris Dixon interview[1] about getting a friend to let him into the Merrill Lynch office back in the early 80s and he'd bring a bunch of coffee/tea, with/without cream and knock and go into random offices and give the person the drink of their choice and ask if they could talk.
