I'm not sure what the issue is here. I bet checking and scoring based on a combination of grammar, spelling, and a rough relationship to the topic at hand would produce pretty good results. Further, if you feel you were graded unfairly, the professor specifically said he will review it personally. He's probably already overworked and underpaid. Why not help him and the college implement technology that could prove to be very helpful.
