“We expect to release the technology in the next five years. In what form it gets released is still to be determined.” You're talking, what, another 2-5 years of testing and adaptation from car manufacturers, if they choose to go with Google? Almost all of them have their own projects and, IMO, are unlikely to be tied to Google and their likely demands.
