I don't use Facebook, so I use linkedin as a way to stay connected with people I have worked with in the past. As people move on, phone numbers and emails change, but linkedin lets me stay connected to them even if I no longer have their email or phone number. Once again, I'm not against getting sent relevant job openings, I'm just tired of people who just spamming everyone without even bothering to read the profiles.
