no doubt, it's just that buy.com is a beautifully simple domain name. I think it's Rakuten's ego driving the decision to axe a 3-letter domain.

  Definitely odd that they didn't at least go with "Rakuten Buy.com", as they did with play.com...

    That was the site's previous branding I believe... I assume at some point play.com will become Rakuten too. :/
