  Yes, $120k/year is a reasonable sum for a 10 year senior developer, and not just in the Silicon Valley. Check out http://www.glassdoor.com/ http://www.glassdoor.com/ for overview of how much money people make in different companies and locations. It depends on what you do, of course - designing web sites for hire probably does not pay very well. Enterprise software OTOH pays very well. Bottom line is that your time is very valuable, but you need to find a place where it can be put to productive use.

Disregard the title, read the content and make sure you understand what it means "to create and deliver value". Then you will undestand how to spend your time productively.

          The surest way to make money is to create and deliver value. If you skip on either of the two your chances are shrinking.
