Apple have had years of notice and thus plenty of time to make any modifications, but chose not to. The EU law did not appear overnight: UL 60950-1 was first published March 27, 2007 and then revised December 19, 2011.
The Mac Pro's demise is fast becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. IT departments shouldn't have to plan their purchasing based on some vague statement from Tim Cook.
