Any suggestions for a PostgreSQL GUI client on a mac?
- venus 14y agoThere's no good ones. Navicat is probably the best but it's a very far cry from Sequel Pro, and very poor value IMO. Basically the best hope is for the Sequel Pro guys to support PostgreSQL, which they have stated they intend to do.
- dguaraglia 14y agopgAdmin? I don't know, besides a very silly bug in the object's privileges tab, it works perfectly fine for me. Well, that and the fact that somehow they use a mixture of Windows/Mac keyboard shortcuts in the SQL editor.
- twerquie 14y agoIt's not pretty, but nothing comes anywhere close to the functionality of PgAdmin. I think it supports nearly every feature of the database, which is impressive.
- jgj 14y agoI was looking for one not too long ago and came upon this: http://inductionapp.com http://inductionapp.com ...which I couldn't use because I'm on 10.6. the website is colorful though so there's that. I ended up using this... http://www.teampostgresql.com http://www.teampostgresql.com which is browser based but does the job
- jcoby 14y agoInduction does not work. At all. The UI flickers and moves around. Views snap out of existence and then back based on where you click. And it crashes constantly. I don't think I was able to view a single row from a single table. It also appears to be abandonware. PgAdmin III is currently the best (free) GUI for postgres. It's not without its own issues (mostly with missing keybindings and focus issues) and it's ugly but it is at least functional.
- mikeevans 14y agoI haven't used it much, but it looks good and is open source: http://inductionapp.com/ http://inductionapp.com/
- up_and_up 14y agoI have tried to us it, it does look good, but does not work. The latest build did not run for me at all on Mountain Lion
- ironchef 14y agoAqua Data Studio is what i've largely used in the past. It's expensive; however, I had to work on a lot of different databases and data warehouses and it was the best fit for most.
- epo 14y agoDbVisualizer (www.dbvis.com) is multi platform and has excellent support. It is Java based and commercial which may be a problem for some.
- tortilla 14y agoI use Navicat Premium (which is multiple databases pg, mysql, sqlite). It's not as pretty as Sequel Pro, but it does the job well. http://www.navicat.com/en/products/navicat_premium/premium_detail_mac.html http://www.navicat.com/en/products/navicat_premium/premium_d... Just pg: http://www.navicat.com/en/products/navicat_pgsql/pgsql_detail_mac.html http://www.navicat.com/en/products/navicat_pgsql/pgsql_detai...
