WikiLeaks film script leaked to WikiLeaks
- joshguthrie 14y agoWill the movie touch upon this particularly meta plot point?
- matthuggins 14y agoAnd then will that get released to WikiLeaks?
- hawkw 14y agoRecursion!
- joshguthrie 14y agoNot sure if there's recursion yet. Will the movie touch upon this particularly meta plot point? (Okay, trying too hard on that one, heh?)
- paulnechifor 14y agohttp://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5118838 http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5118838 (There. Now it's an infinite recursion.)
- United857 14y agoProbably a delibrate act to get publicity on the part of the filmmakers!
- hawkw 14y agoThis seems appropriate.
- madrox 14y agoINCEPTION
- rosser 14y agoPretty standard, if effective, propaganda tactic. All "they" have to do is stick the words "Based on a True Story" somewhere in there, and they can diverge however far they want from the facts, yet people will still gobble it up.
- seferphier 14y agoAgree. However, I have doubts on Assange's credibility. Although I am inclined to believe what Assange had said, Assange absconded bail which was posted by his friends and supporters.
- meaty 14y agoGiven the circumstances, I know no individual who would have done otherwise.
- znowi 14y agoIf this is all they found on him, I think he's likely more credible than many of us :) On a side note, it is a known tactics in politics - discredit your opponent early, for when he talks, nobody will listen. As an added bonus, it diverts attention from the actual matter (leaked materials) to a character debate.
- meaty 14y agoThe finest demonstration of that is the turd, sorry film Pearl Harbour....
- Keyframe 14y agoReminds me of what I thought how US government should have responded to cable leaks. All they had to respond with was with: Indeed, SOME of the leaks are ours/true. End of story, no one would be sure anymore what is true, what is false.
- 981239123 14y agoLink for the lazy 'Julian Assange at the Oxford Union': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vQNWYnQjUE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vQNWYnQjUE
