I find that any skill that provides me with additional option when performing common tasks is "useful" to some degree. re LEDs for standing out: i did say "within the context of social norms" re "dedication to ~something~" I never said, or implied dedication. I said "willingness". This is VERY different. I don't want employees who are "dedicated" to finding alternative ways to do things. I want employees who are "willing" to find alternative ways to do things.
