Honestly if battery is the only thing holding you back, get a Razr Maxx and enjoy double the battery of an iphone. I'm still using an HTC Sensation with Cyanogen/Jellybean and I get about 2 days of battery with moderate use. In any case, the article's use case is just one example. In general the interoperability and the deep integration allowed by android provides many great features that long time apple users just don't even realize they are missing.
