Show HN: StartupSupper - Stop eating instant ramen you hungry-hungry-hackers.
- whichdan 14y agoWill this include a decent amount of vegetarian recipes?
- niftylettuce 14y agoyes, absolutely.
- benwerd 14y agoI would love to contribute to this, both being a veteran of cash-strapped startup life and someone who enjoys cooking. Do you provide a way for people to do so?
- niftylettuce 14y agoyes we plan to, toss me an email niftylettuce@gmail.com, we'd love contributions from startup founders.
- avolcano 14y agoAs usual with these kinds of lists, I'm a bit weary to sign up without seeing a sample newsletter (or, in this case, recipe).

- jc4p 14y agoDoesn't really help... can you post the first e-mail or have you not made anything yet?
- niftylettuce 14y agowe've got content ready, just making sure we knew we'd have people to send it to (instead of just a few groups of startups).
- AlexMuir 14y agoWell why don't you make some content available and then people will see what they're signing up for. If you've already got it then this is zero effort for a higher conversion. FWIW I've flagged this because at the moment you're 'showing' HN nothing but a Mailchimp form. This is a sub-MVP.
- niftylettuce 14y agoit'll be a nice resource for hackers! will post content soon, need to polish some
- AlexMuir 14y agoFrom your point of view it's a success - there's clearly interest. Put some content on the site, resubmit it. The audience is clearly there. Email me when you do and I'll be the first to upvote it.
- pohungc 14y agoI think this can target normal college students too. Not just startup hackers :)
- teng 14y agoStartups absolutely need this. I speak from experience. We need recipes that hackers can relate to!
- chewxy 14y agoPeople, stop treating yourself badly. Eating ramen everyday may seem to be the cheap thing to do, but it's not value for money in the long run. Here's a site for fellow hackers - Fork the Cookbook (http://forkthecookbook.com http://forkthecookbook.com). People say it's like github for recipes, but I think it's a pretty site with some great recipes. Good food does not have to be expensive. Find a recipe you like, and fork it with cheaper ingredients. Let 2013 be your year of healthy eating. p/s: I signed up anyway, since I love food :P
- snogglethorpe 14y agoThe issue is not just money, it's time, which includes shopping, preparation, and cleanup in addition to cooking. I love cooking, but after a long day's work, when you have other stuff you want to do, sometimes it's hard to fit in cooking too; even just "throw some rice and veggies into the rice cooker" (a simple, tasty, cheap, and healthy meal) sometimes seems a huge burden...
- chewxy 14y agoA slow cooker is your friend! When I was younger and foolisher, there would be days when I would stay up for 48 hours straight coding. I still always had pulled pork, soup or congee of some sort (three of the simplest things to make with a slow cooker) to keep me going. Now, I've just learned to take my time with things. No longer do I let things rush me.

- the-kenny 14y agoWhat I ALWAYS miss at these site: Metric units. Imperial/US/Australian/dunno is just PITA.
- niftylettuce 14y agothe tribe has spoken
- rex_gsd 14y agoI second this, you need metric!
