The problem with PPI is that it creates perverse incentives that are taken advantage of by malicious people[1], in the process creating a large underground economy. I'm surprised that YC would get involved in something as shady as this. Even if the company has good intentions, if it takes off then it's main customers are less likely to in the long run.
