If you have access to the folder where the application is deployed (eg. TOMCAT/webapps/) you can take a look at (TOMCAT/webapps/3rdpartyapp/WEB-INF/) and if you see files called applicationContext.xml or any spring.jar files under WEB-INF/lib, it uses Spring.
