Is it safe to assume that the developers have forgotten that there's a very big world beyond the US borders? The title doesn't say so, the blog post doesn't either, and the website makes no reference to the countries supported. But as the API doesn't take a country field, it's the only conclusion I can come to.
- ericcholis 14y agoMight want to look at https://rocketship.it/ https://rocketship.it/; not an API, but a set of libraries for working with the various carrier APIs.
- marcrosoft 14y agoDeveloper of RocketShipIt here. Thanks :)
- rhizome 14y agoIt would require a couple of styling changes, but if your blockquote tags weren't text-align: center, the snippets would be much easier to read.
- jstreebin 14y agoNo! We're a US company so that's where we're starting but we'll be working on international next.
- scoot 14y agoThen please make that clear in your blog post and home-page.
- ericcholis 14y agoAs a side note, the carrier APIs make international rating easy. But, easy is a relative term, quite often there are a number of exceptions that make this area tricky.
- pbreit 14y agoIt's safer to assume that geo-based services posted to HN are likely US-centric and for good reasons (company is US-based, US is huge market, expanding outside the US is hard, etc).
- joncalhoun 14y agoThe bottom of the page now has a "countries supported" text with an american flag. Hope this clears things up a little bit . If you are interested in getting notified when we support other countries i would be happy to email you.
