Nope, it is literally calculated asynchronously. Look at https://github.com/lloyd/node-toobusy/blob/master/toobusy.cc#L63 https://github.com/lloyd/node-toobusy/blob/master/toobusy.cc... and lines 91/92 which sets up the background timer.
