the distance between knowing 0 Python and being proficient in Python shouldn't be more than 2 weeks, and the distance from 0 to "idiomatic" shouldn't be more than 3-4 weeks... and these are generous timeframes. most programming languages are very simple and i'd question whether even 1 month is going to make a difference, especially when i see companies having the same unfilled positions month after month
