I've been reading (read mostly lurking) on HN for about 2 years. I've seen new products get released and bashed down, others turn into incredible successes and I've been through the roller coaster that is my own startups. Still, I respect the HN community because at the end of the day they care about each other (e.g. the comments on http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5048132 http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5048132). I like to read through comments on threads like that and appreciate the importance of an awesome community.
