Ask HN: Hacking public education

I built a school ERP thats being used by some private schools here in Argentina. The functionalities are pretty common: finance, student attendance, calendar... We have the possibility to meet with our mayor to show what we have been doing but Id also like to show him something that could significantly improve the education in public schools. With the software we wrote we can know what things have an impact on student attendance/performance. Im sure there are more things we could do, so Id like to know if you people have ideas or experiencies that could helps us.
