Because most languages are not optimized for a type of task, most languages are not DSLs. Most languages are "general purpose". I don't understand why so many people continually make this same comment.
- pjmlp 14y agoWell you could try to write Rails in C, Crysis in JavaScript or device drivers in TCL, after all they are all turing complete. Hence the need to know several languages and use the right one for the task at hand.
