If the driver wants you out, being unable to cancel the trip on the app won't stop them throwing you out.

  But if it means they'll be out of a job they will be less likely to do it. I don't think its unreasonable to argue that Uber has a duty not to hand riders over to known reckless drivers.

    They're independent contractors. They can accept and cancel jobs at will.
