Oh no, there were bad actors on the market, let's lock the hardware so cheaper but genuine options can't emerge.

It's not their problem then, the seller is responsible for it and I think we can assume the user has a brain so they knew they could buy a more expensive option from the authorized sellers. Isn't this the case?
