- PowerElectronix 10d agoYou can increase the refresh rate until it goes away. I don't think anyone notices flicker at 80Hz or so.
- mrob 10d agoYou do want to simulate it, because it's the only way to preserve the original motion quality of games designed around a fixed 60 fps frame rate without changing the gameplay or adding latency.
- sublinear 10d agoThe hysteresis of the phosphor makes this a non-issue in reality. 60Hz looks great on a CRT when the input is a game console or VCR from the era. Maybe you mean screen tearing, bad deinterlacing, etc. caused by software running on a PC?
- anthk 10d agoMy CRT did 1024x768@85 just fine.
- layer8 10d agoThe flicker is fine, especially with 240p and 480p.
